5a05 is a type of aluminum alloy that is resistant to rust and contains magnesium. Unlike other alloys in the Al Mg series, it cannot be strengthened through heat treatment. Similar to the 5A03 alloy, it has a higher magnesium content and lower strength. When these alloys are cold deformed, their strength increases but their ability to be shaped decreases. In its annealed state, 5a05 has good plasticity, while in its semi cold worked hardened state, it still maintains an acceptable level of plasticity. This alloy is known for its excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. It can be used for various types of welding, such as spot welding, atomic hydrogen welding, gas welding, and argon arc welding.
